Strandwood Dinner Dance Auction

The Strandwood PTA is thrilled to be able to bring back the much anticipated Dinner Dance Auction. This live event will be held on April 20, 2024 at the Contra Costa Country Club.

The Strandwood Community annual Dinner Dance Auction, an adults-only evening of festivities and fundraising! Past Auctions featured themes like Denim and Diamonds, Headbangers Ball, 80’s Night, and Mask-uerade. This years’ theme will be Disco Nights! This highly anticipated event includes cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres, games, raffle, & silent auction, followed by dinner, live auction, dancing and more!

Did you know that the auction is our BIGGEST fundraiser of the year and brings in over 40% of the total income for the PTA? That money supports staffing, curriculum and all the PTA programs we love!

Show up dressed to impress for a night like no other; a cocktail hour with a chance to bid on the silent auction items, drool over the delicious desserts for the dessert dash, and sample some savory appetizers while supporting a worthy cause. As always, there will be plenty of fun games including:

  • Chance to win the "Instant Wine Cellar" - valued at over $1,000

  • “Balloon Pop" to win an assortment of gift cards

  • Awesome photo opportunities!

Donate an Item to the DDA Auction

The Strandwood Dinner, Dance & Auction provides 40-50% of our annual PTA revenue and without it we would not be able to provide the level of support the school currently enjoys. During times of diminished funding for education, the Strandwood PTA has been able to supplement the academic experience for all Strandwood students by providing instructional assistants, a computer site tech, a science teacher, art docent, the new and improved Snow Queen performance, the Strandwood Art Program, Deep Space Sparkle, and much more. We are only able to do this through your generous support. Our Annual Dinner Dance Auction event will be held on Saturday April 20, 2024. An online auction will be held in the weeks preceding the live event. We need your help to make it a success. Even if you can’t attend the event you can still support the auction with a donation. We have reached out to over 600 local and national businesses and have already gotten a great response. We have found however, that the best donations are the ones that come from our community. Below are examples of some of the many ways you can contribute – the possibilities are limited only by your imagination.

*Ready to make a donation – or have more questions, contact Samantha Sheldon or Jill Head at [email protected]

Special Access

Do you or someone you know have “behind the scenes” access to a local company or entertainment venue? Can you help us put together a “priceless” experience that isn’t available to the general public?

Famous Friends

Do you have a famous friend or relative (local or national) that would be willing to have breakfast, lunch or dinner with a lucky auction winner?

Season Tickets

Do you have season tickets to the Giants, A’s, 49ers, Raiders, Warriors or Cal that you would be willing to share?

Timeshare Donation

Do you have a timeshare you aren’t able to use? Let us turn it into an auction package to benefit Strandwood.

Vacation Home

Are you willing to share your vacation home for a week, or a long weekend? We’d love to send a Strandwood family there.

Southwest (or other airline) Points

Got points? We’d love to have some to send some Strandwood parents on a high flying adventure.

Professional Services

Do you offer a professional service that would be of value to the Strandwood community? Are you an estate lawyer, a plumber or handyman? Are you willing to donate a few hours of your time to the highest bidder?

Parent owned businesses

Do you own a business? Can you make a donation of products, services or cash to support the Auction?

Special Talent

Do you have a special talent? Knitting, yoga, painting etc. Can you donate your time to share your talent with others? You can do this by hosting a party!

Do you bake or cook?

Participate in one or more of the following:

Cookie, Muffin or Pie of the Month Club (or any other tasty treat)

Deliver a dozen homemade cookies, muffins or a pie etc. a month to the auction winner. May be shared by several volunteers as long as they coordinate to avoid duplicates.

Dessert Dash

Make a fabulous cake or other dessert for our Dessert Dash at the live auction event.

Gift Cards

Do you have gift cards hanging around that you are never going to use. As long as they are not expired (or about to) we’d love to have them for the auction.

Wine

Do you have a favorite wine you can donate or do you have insider connections that can provide wine for our tables or wine toss?

Gift Baskets

Put together a gift basket of some of your favorite things to share with the Strandwood community. The possibilities are endless. Some of the baskets we’d like to have include: Family Game Night, Book Collections at each grade level, Coffee Lovers, Ice Cream Fanatic, Exercise Essentials, Baker’s Tools, Scrapbooking/Craft Supplies. You could also create baskets that play off the auction theme.

Strandwood’s Dinner Dance Auction Needs You!

Looking for a fun way to get involved at Strandwood? Consider serving as Strandwood's Chair(s) or a Volunteer for the 2023 Annual Dinner, Dance & Auction!

The Chair(s) are responsible for planning, fundraising and implementing the largest fundraiser for our school, raising funds through ticket sales, silent and live auction items, raffle, class projects and teacher experiences.

Event coordination includes managing a volunteer team of parents who will assist you throughout the planning of the event which will include selling tickets online, gathering auction and raffle items (business database provided), data management on Bidding for Good online auction site, coordinating class projects and teacher experiences and planning theme, décor, food and beverage for the event, typically held in March.

A structure is in place to assist you with all of the above and last year's Event Chairs are available to assist you with any questions or concerns. Email [email protected] with any questions or to find out more!
