Sutter's Fort
This Environmental Living Program (ELP) at Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park is a very special program that has been educating and entertaining children since 1976. The program allows students, along with their teacher and trained parent assistants, to spend 24 hours (including overnight) at Sutter’s Fort. During their time here they will portray characters of 1840's California and partake in the various activities, trades, and entertainment of the era.
The Environmental Living Program is an unforgettable hands-on 15-week parent-led program open to Fourth Graders. Students will meet every Wednesday from 1:00pm-2:30pm, with the program ending in an overnight trip to Sutter's Fort typically in March or April. Parent participation is mandatory and each child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the overnight stay. The program is limited to 50 students. Information will be distributed to parents in late October.
